Since completing my university education in 2010 I have been working as a physiotherapist in private practice while competing as an elite off-road competitor in triathlon and mountain bike events.
My treatment approach has been shaped by my formal education, post-graduate courses, and my experiences competing as alpine skier and now as an endurance athlete.
I believe that pain management and optimal performance require meeting a hierarchy of needs including mental, physical, and social health, nutrition, sleep and recovery, fitness, movement strategies, and tolerance of loading…just to mention a few!
I grew up north of Toronto, Ontario and moved to Victoria, BC in 2012 with aspirations of balancing my physiotherapy career with more serious triathlon racing. I loved my time on Vancouver Island in the “endurance sport capital of Canada” and learned a great deal while training in that community and working in a multidisciplinary health clinic.
I am happy to have transitioned over to the Sunshine Coast, where I am currently living and working.
